Let’s Start at the Beginning… Anthony Sparrow
After more than 25 years experience in all aspects of the recovery industry including car and commercial recovery and management, Anthony Sparrow joined forces with his wife Becky and started RSS Recovery only 3 years ago. Despite having their first recovery truck stolen only two weeks after launch, and in the face of an unprecedented global recession, Anthony and Becky have achieved success that many can only dream of – the fastest growing company in the industry.

What was your first truck?
Mercedes 814 ECO with a fully demountable body
What is or has been your favourite truck?
Difficult one – either our Volvo FH known as Arkroyal or Mercedes 814 which started everything off.

What was your worst buy?
Mini 1275GT when I was 17. It cost me a fortune to put right
What was the best time to be in breakdown/recovery?
As we only started 3 years ago, the best time for us was the bad winter at the end 2009
What do you feel is the most positive thing about the industry?
The industry has come on in leaps and bounds in training and health and safety and this can only be a good thing.
Do you expect to see any changes in the industry over the next few years?
I think there will be more legislation with health & safety and tachographs will become compulsory.
What’s the most important lesson you have learned in life?
Trust nobody and defeat your enemies with success
Do you have any hobbies outside work?
Riding my Motorbike but never seem to get the time anymore. I still enjoy watching Motorbike racing though.

Los Cristianos Tenerife great weather all year and really friendly place
What alternative career would you have favoured if it had not been in the motor trade?
No idea to be honest. I did drive an artic for 7 years and the money was good.
