New Recovery World slidebed
adds to the LAR fleet
Recovery World has been supplying new trucks to LARfor a number of years as they add to their growing fleet. The latest is a Crew Cab Volvo 14t FL240 (RW60SLS) Super Low Slider (with a 5degree approach angle) and a second car lift. This is the first Recovery World Super Low Slider to enter the LAR fleet and it comes with a host of standard features which includes:-
- Body length of 7m approx, depending on chassis wheelbase(longer available if required)
- LED Worklamps and side markers for longevity
- 8000lb hydraulic winch
- LED Haztec Lightbar
- Galvanised Flyer with Skate’s Holder and rear light bar panel
The RW60 SLS slidebed is at the top of the slidebed range and also is the most versatile with its excellent loading angle making it ideal for low sports vehicles and vehicles with long overhangs, as well as the run of the mill vehicles. A loading angle of less than 5 degrees may be achieved depending on the chassis used.
This steel or aluminium slidebed body is built for hard work and designed for the 7.5 ton to 18ton chassis range. With its light construction it provides a great payload delivering an impressive capacity of from 3.5 ton to 8ton.
This is the 3rd Volvo that Recovery World has recently delivered to LAR along with 3.5t Beavertail’s and 2 7.5t aluminium slidebeds. LAR uses the complete range of Recovery World services including the online shop for accessories. Jason Longmore at LAR said “These Volvo trucks are really good; they are comfortable, the drivers’ like them and they are also good looking vehicles”.
LAR Traffic Services have now grown their fleet to over 100 vehicles operating from their bases in North & South London and also serving the surrounding areas. LAR has invested heavily to upgrade their fleet to comply with the new London LEZ requirements coming into force next April and to improve their response times whilst not affecting their already high level of customer service.
As part of the company growth, LAR has recently acquired ELVA Recovery based at St Leonards on Sea Hastings, adding the staff and customer base to their already impressive organisation. This new Volvo truck will be going to Hastings as the ELVA fleet moves over to the LAR brand.
Jason added that “We are delighted to take delivery of this new Volvo from Recovery World. It’s the first SLS in our fleet and we have been dealing with Recovery World for a long time, buying a variety of trucks and also using their other services. We have always found them down to earth, easy to talk to and more importantly when anything has needed attention you always know that they will sort things out”.
