Ontime Rescue & Recovery and Mansfield Group join forces
The UK has a new and potent force in Rescue & Recovery and Parking with the news that Ontime Automotive’s parent company Bidvest has acquired a majority shareholding in the Cheshire-based Mansfield Group.
Ontime Automotive’s Global Automotive Transport Services, Technical Services and Commercial Workshops will continue with its existing brand under Managing Director Justin Brinklow.
The Mansfield Group will take over the running of Rescue & Recovery and Parking divisions under its brand, run by Managing Director Darrell Mansfield.
The new business is believed to be the biggest organisation of its kind in UK and Europe, offering in effect a national operation for Rescue & Recovery Services and combining its vehicle fleet and depot resources.
Justin Brinklow says the move is designed to protect the long-term interests of the business and provide customers with the most comprehensive and high quality service available.
“The transport and logistics sector needs to have economies of scale and substantial volume to support the levels of service customers demand.
The Bidvest Group has made a significant investment in this acquisition, which combines resources and puts service levels at the heart of everything we do. Both the Mansfield Group and Ontime Automotive have established reputations to build on and ambitious long-term goals. There is no doubt in my mind that we now have the UK’s most impressive transport and logistics businesses within the group, and a combined talent pool which our competitors will find hard to match.”
Between them the Mansfield Group and Ontime Automotive will employ in excess of 800 staff, with a combined fleet of 750 vehicles operating out of 30 depots nationwide.
